Brisbane was originally known as Edenglassie, a portmanteau of the Scottish cities Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Boundary Rd is named so because it used to mark the boundary across which the local Aboriginal populace could not cross after dark. They were driven out at the end of a whip by a constable on horseback most nights in the 19th century.
